How the opposition “divided” after Memli Krasniqi's meeting with Albin Kurtin

Last night, Prime Minister Kurti and chairman of PDK, Memli Krasniqi, met for a working dinner where part of the discussion was also early elections. Prime Minister Kurti does not remove the possibility of the country going to elections in a few months, yet he tries to put “in front of the people” by citing the seasons [...]
<x0) PDK, Memli Krasniqi, had dinner with Prime Minister Albin Kurti last night.
The meeting was called “to review new possibilities about meeting the remaining Legislative agenda for the alternative session”, as stated at Kurti's invitation, but Krasniqi sat down in front of to specifically discuss “the possibility of setting the date for the new elections”.
LDK Chairman Lumir Abdixhiku and AAK chairman Ramush Haradinaj refused to participate.
Krasniqi said after the meeting that “Kosovo is in agony” and mentioned that “we also have a difficult and heavy situation in terms of Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe”. Thus, he said Kurt asked for acceleration to move towards new elections.
So I told Prime Minister Kurti that I consider we should speed up our work to address these subjects. The Democratic Party of Kosovo has already nominated its candidate for Kosovo prime minister, Mr. Bedri Hamza, who we consider is the most appropriate candidate to provide solutions and respond to these problems. But to get there, one thing is necessary, and those are early parliamentary elections, because the extraordinary situation requires extraordinary elections”, he said before reporters.
Krasniqi demanded that “become together to go to the polls together, because the elections should ultimately be a general political position”. He said the PDK is ready for “an agreement with all parliamentary parties for a new election date, to distribute the Kosovo Assembly through a joint motion”.
I've been working on this issue, not wanting to take the flag of protagonism, because I consider it more important that we achieve this moment, that elections are not our wish, elections are the need of the country, that it is necessary to answer with a new government these issues that I raised. So these were the very core of the discussions I had today, which I believe we should have space to concreteize the steps in the next few days, I hope I'm”, Krasniqi said.
Krasniqi said that <x0 selections are the need of the country, there are imperative”, while added that discussions with Kurti on this “we should have space to concreteise with the steps in the coming days”.
“I strongly hope that even colleagues from other opposition parties will agree to that item”, Krasniqi said, citing the “the functionality of the Parliament”.
The prime minister represents a party. Other parties weren't here tonight. It's their right. I hope there will be meetings. I had meetings with everyone. But he won't talk about others. I believe that there is space and I believe there is will, that we can jointly achieve with the sole goal of having a restar, to have a resume, to have a new resemination of governance. I consider government here not right. Citizens have expected more, better”, the chairman said PDK.
He said that “needs a new government” and “to make and make a new government, new elections are needed”. For the new elections, Krasniqi said he is interested in “to discuss with each”.
“I believe the following days we clarify a lot of stuff”, Krasniqi said.
Following him, Kurti stopped before reporters, who said they spoke “even in terms of the possibility of new elections in the near future”. Initially, he mentioned that there are “13 international agreements which are pending to vote for” and for which the votes of 2/3 of MPs are needed.
LVV chairman said the elections are “months issue”, while expressing interest in discussing even with other opposition parties “what is the most appropriate season for the next” elections.
“The distribution of the Assembly requires 80 votes. The Vetevendosje movement does not have it. But at the same time I wouldn't prefer the Cup to be shared with two parties, maybe even three parties. Why don't we all be together. It is in the nature of the opposition to seek elections, while I am in the last year of the mandate and my governance on this mandate cannot last more than a few months. It is not essential for me to rule on this mandate in ten months, eight or six months, or three months. It is important to have a broad consensus, to be as comprehensive for the month, the date of elections, and then to make the debate political and ideological for the next four years”, Kurti said.
The discussion with Krasniqi about the elections, Kurti said he is interested in “to continue with others”, while citing international agreements not approved in the Assembly and the general political situation of the state, which he said should be discussed more slowly, longer and more fully include”.
I invited all parties tonight. I thank the PDK leadership for responding positively. I'll insist I meet with others. It is not my intention to exclude anyone and I believe that international agreements that need 80 votes make co-operation necessary”, Kurti said.
This meeting between the chairman of the largest opposition party in the country and the prime minister was not well seen by other opposition parties, who had earlier rejected Kurti's invitation.
Democratic League of Kosovo Chairman Lumir Abdixhiku says Kurti chose The PDK for its individual salvation from major failures.
According to Abdixhik, the solution would be, the resignation of the prime minister and then, as a result, the dissolution of the Parliament.
The solution is quite simple, the resignation of the prime minister, and then, as a result, the dissolution of the Parliament.
After three and a half years of populism and without any substantial progress, after three and a half years of polarisation, social division and promotion of propaganda without any human and political consideration, Kosovo's prime minister has chosen instrumentisation of the opposition as individual rescue from major failure.
Unfortunately, in this instrumentization, he found the ally.
The LDK does not accept this instrumentization under any circumstances.
The LDK is ready to seek civic confidence, willing to take responsibility before challenges, ready to implement the new “Street as a developmental, right and Euro-Atlantic programme.
For this, the prime minister's resignation is needed, as the right path towards the dissolution of the Parliament and moving to early elections. Resignment, then break-up and finally date. That's the order of things.
The LDK considers that, in these crucial days, the focus of institutions and political parties should be on the issue of Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe, which, with its irresponsibly, has seriously jeopardised the prime minister himself.
The LDK rejects the dinner farce as covering a political unity that was despised when it was now offered three and a half years. The LDK calls for a right-wing nationwide unity, as interparty ties, as rescue movement. The current political, economic, diplomatic and social situation requires new leadership in Kosovo. Economic momentum, low wages, high prices, ruined health system and behind education, as well as EU integration and NATO membership integrating impasses, are causing the emptying of Kosovo every day, with 173 citizens leaving our country every day -- 11x0>.
The LDK will not become part of any pre-aranged agreement behind closed dinner doors. The LDK invites all political parties, at this time, to seek and work only in terms of the prime minister's legal resignation, because that fact has already occurred”, the LDK's response said.
In the same approach, there is the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), where they declare the dissolution of the Parliament will occur only after Kurti's dismissal or resignation.
Last night's meeting has cost him two big truths. The first truth is that there has been no discussion on the subject but on the legislative agenda. It is not the problem of voting 300m euros of international agreements, but the problem is how Kurti finds an exit that could enable the opposition to allow him an amnesty of ill-governance, failure in domestic and foreign policy. Above all of Kosovo's membership in the KiE. Today we are on the day when ambassadors in Strasbourg discuss whether or not Kosovo joins the House of Ministers. Imagine the country's prime minister a day before deciding for Kosovo's membership, he deals with elections. With the only reason to cover a kidnapping, cover a total failure. As for the issue that then became the media issue of parliament's dissolution. We have not discussed a moment at the Kosovo assembly at the break-up. We as the Alliance have proposed a vote of confidence in the Assembly. Parliament's Displacement for The AAK can only happen when the prime minister is dismissed or resigned”, Besnik Tahiri has said.
He has said how the AAK will meet with Kurt if it concerns national interests.
There's no reason why you don't meet Kurt for a second, it's gonna take days for which you're meeting me. We need to day-to-day the theme, if it has to do a topic of national interest we have confirmed it with paper. For international agreements and laws we don't have what we meet that the Alliance has given him the vote. For all this mandate we haven't voted in three months. We've always voted international agreements. As to meet enough to cover a proud, arbitrary, very humiliating approach he had for the opposition, we don't have what”, he said.
“The PDK has been declared, The PDK has had a dissolving position earlier, even the LDK does not know. But what I want to say is, if there is a party that is convening elections, the party that is in this Kosovo Assembly is Alenaca. I'm saying it without modesty, because the Alliance's structural body has never been more powerful. Neither in Kosovo nor in the diaspora. I also think our outcome will be election surprise. But going to the polls through an agreement requires more accuracy”, he said.
A little rougher with the PDK has been NISMA, which has already formalised the pre-election coalition with the AAK, where it says Memli Krasniqi has rushed to meet Kurti.
According to them, the PDK chairman's move is reckless and harmful.
Indiscreet and harmful, political action that in itself not only entitles Albin Kurti's internal mismanagement but also legitimizes the wrong diplomatic course of this government.
Kosovo has lacked the opposition voice, so the demand for the opposition's co-ordination has been natural, as the reluctance to be part of a united front is already deciphering with haste
Memli Krasniqi, who chose to agree with Albin Kurti prior to co-ordination with the opposition.
Under current circumstances, the opposition should have only one common stance, the resignation of Albin Kurti or the dismissal through the motion, which would result in the dissolution of the Parliament and the election!
The distribution of the Assembly without resignation or dismissal of the government is the carrying of guilt from the government to the Parliament, even though responsible for total degradation of the state in all areas of life is the government, not the Parliament.
So, NISMA Social Democrat calls on MPs of all parties to refuse to be dismissed by the government but to call for session and sack the government!
