Dutch artist Joost Klein has been disqualified from Eurovision following an incident in the background.
The performer was disqualified from the race after a production member made a threat indictment to Swedish police, reports the BBC.
In a statement, contest organisers said that “would not be appropriate for him to continue the” contest while the legal process is under way.
We have a zero tolerance policy for improper behavior toward our employees. His behavior has exceeded”, reported.
Klein was among the favourites to win with his song “Europepa”.
Dutch public broadcaster AV ROTROS said they were <x0rontidd” from the EBU official's statement.
“We have been notified of exclusion, but we consider the sentence unproportional. We're very sorry, and we'll get back to that later”, they said.
Portal nu.nl writes it became clear to the public that something strange was happening during the test for Jost finals to be fifth in a row, but Holland was skipped.
It later turned out that Jost was not even allowed to attend the jury trial, which carries about half the points.
Never in the 68 years of Eurovision Song Contest has any country been withdrawn or disqualified during the festival.
