NATO Membership More Important Than EU, Praises Ceku

In a proposal for Radio Dukagjin, while Ceku says he has enjoyed this news, he also commented on the failure of continuing Serbian efforts to prevent this process.
“There is no doubt that it is good news for Kosovo because Kosovo is gradually taking its place in international organisations, much better that fact makes the failure of Serbia's continued efforts to prevent the advance of Kosovo's status, so Kosovo is gradually entering NATO, even though it is an organisation, not directly NATO but is close where countries can express their position... I enjoyed this news”, he said.
Ceku argued the next step is full membership as he adds that it simply brings Kosovo into the NATO family and links it more to NATO.
He also estimates that NATO membership has greater weight than membership in the European Union.
“Normal is a burden because different topics are discussed there and now Kosovo can raise its voice, give its position, its opinion and become very soon equal part to all of them. NATO membership is far more important than EU membership, so we should focus more on NATO membership, but also in parallel on EU membership. NATO membership guarantees sovereignty, the eternity of the state of Kosovo”, he said.
