Today, the process of censusing ends, family economies and residences, which has begun on 5 April. The preliminary results of the census are expected to be published within three months.
Ylli Shala, project manager at the Statistics Agency, said in RTK that long-term work will be done today because of the influx of citizens who have later let it in, or have not had time to register.
Shala said that some stations within the registration office have been opened in the Statistics Agency, and two offices are in the city's location where citizens can register.
According to Shala, this process is considered one of the biggest projects in the country. “has been a very big job and commitment starting with KSF staff and all recorders, supervisors, municipal commissions and all institutions in the country”, he said.
Shala added that the most challenging work of this process has been the work of recorders, who, according to him, when it is seen as being very volumeful has had their appeal.
With the possibility of technology Shala said it is most likely that preliminary results will emerge within June, while finals by the end of the year.
He said the decline of nightiness and migration are two main factors that have affected population decline, but that according to him in Kosovo there is not much reduction in the number of residents
The purpose of population registration is not only the population number, within this census we get a lot of other information that would have been very convenient for municipalities, the government, Kosovo for ASK, because we have many indicators that we cannot send to Eurostat without the registration process to be carried out, Shala said.
Shala said that for no census there will be penalties, the individual punishment will be 2000 euros, while for political subjects up to 20,000 euros, so he called for the release and registration of all those left unregistered.
