The Kosovo Democratic Institute has declared Lipjani, Drenas, Ferizaj and Prizren as the most transparent municipalities for 2023, which are estimated at 97 points.
KDI, within the framework of the local government programme and civic participation even this year, has reflected the level of transparency for Kosovo's 38 municipalities for 2023 data that have also been presented in a report titled “Transparometer Comunal”.
According to the findings in this report, one of the main challenges KDI has faced during data collection is the failure of municipal websites, as well as municipalities that have experienced considerable regregation as a result of the related challenges to political and administrative stability are four northern municipalities, which have negatively affected transparency and accountability.
KDI Executive Director Ismet Kryeziu has said according to the findings, municipal transparency at the municipal level has generally seen a slight decline compared to the 2022 report.
He added that from general data they show that the best concentrations have the Communist Framework.
Kryeziu has stressed how due to specific political contexts in the four northern municipalities has shown a lack of transparency and accountability.
