Les: West in a deadlock, Kosovo is following its policy of Serb ecstasy

Timothy Les, a leading researcher at Cambridge University's Centre for Geopoliticals, estimated that Western politics towards the Kosovo issue is on edge, while Kosovo is pursuing a policy of violent Serb integration. Les said he believed for a long time that Kosovo's history would end with an agreement [...]
Les said he believed for a long time that Kosovo's history would end with an agreement on division and added he expected Richard Green and Donald Trump's future administration to continue where they left him in 2020 and that they would advance the idea that for him is the only possible solution to the status issue.
“In the meantime, the current Western policy is on the roll. Kosovo is following its policy of violent integration of Serbs or, rather, in the Albanian perspective, of their Kosovo exchange. Serbia is increasingly rejecting any recognition of independence, which is a predictable response to what it sees as the persecution of Kosovo Serbs and pressure from the West to give up Kosovo without any considerable compensation”, Les said.
When it comes to the West, Les points out, he is trapped because, on the one hand, he defends Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe, and on the other hand, he refuses to do so and conditions Kosovo with the establishment of association, criticises Albanians for unilateral acts against Serbs, and strengthens its military presence in Kosovo to prevent the Serb subx0> unilateral acts.
Meanwhile, Les adds, the EU-led dialogue has recently been interrupted and top officials, such as Gabriel Escobar and Miroslav Lajcak, are retreating, which is a clear testimony to the failure of current Western policy to Serbia and Kosovo, Tanjug reports.
In other words, the issue of Kosovo's status is the victim of the same liberal false idealism in the Western mind, which prevents changing borders and focusing on so-called restorative justice, blocks any kind of permanent or sustainable solution in Bosnia and Herzegovina and preserves a frozen state of fatigue, “he said.
