The Regional Summit of Leaders will be held in Kotor in Montenegro on May 15th and 16th. This Samit is expected to join regional leaders, including Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq.
Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama, North Macedonia's technical prime minister, Talat Xhaferi, European Commission for Neighborship and Enlargement, Oliver Varheley, and US Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia James O'Brien, reports the Express.
From Kosovo, besides Kurt in Sam, the deputy prime minister for dialogue, Besnik Bislimi, and the chairman of the Kosovo Economic Ode, Lulzim Rafuna, will participate.
It was Montenegrin Prime Minister Marko Spajic, who has announced this summit last month.
Spajic said they want to reduce tensions as much as possible and focus on expanding economic relations on the road to the EU. The prime minister stressed that Montenegro wants to have excellent relations with all countries in the region, and that with the ratification of several agreements on mobileity, it has shown its commitment to the Berlin process.
We will have a Sam of Western Balkan leaders in mid-May in Kotor. We want to gather all the officials in the region, which is not easy because of the dynamics of relations between the Balkan states. We are trying to reduce tensions as much as possible and focus on economic relations between us on the road to the EU. We have to commit ourselves to citizens, harmonise things that are for their benefit, so that politics is not an obstacle to this”, he said.
