Hundreds of protesters have participated in the protest organised by the United Education and Science Union, supported by other unions on May 1st Workers' Day.

The protest march began from the National Library to continue towards Pristina squares to stop before the Government, where union leaders also held a speech.

The SBASAK chairman, Nundman Jasharaj, asked the Government to act in order not to do as 2022 said when a several-month strike was held.

The government continues to avoid dialogue and that's why we're here to address the Government to carry out our demands to prevent other union actions. We ask the Government to act and not repeat the year 2022 that because of their silence, we had to do syndical actions that we did not want”, he said.

Independent Private Sector Union Chairman Yusuf Azemi said Prime Minister Albin Kurti lied to the workers when he declared he would raise wages. In this case, Azem also mentioned building houses in Gracanica for the Serb community, saying that “a would build soliers, and we don't have a” Shuta.

We think that this government has done work and it's not done it, but it's done since yesterday that I've built soled for others, but until there's built solilars we don't have a stick. Kosovo's prime minister spends state reserves, Kosovo's prime minister pays people out of $7,000 from other embassies and gives us no 7 cents. The government with its policies has killed Kosovo's capital, if it continues so, Kosovo's prime minister has no one to carry in black jeeps, that Kosovo is emptying. These emerging people are coming up, because the salary is 170 euros, we are right now that it comes to Government, the salary will be 350 euros, and today it is 170 euros”, Azemi said.

And the chairman of the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Kosovo, At and Hykoli, said their presence largely indicates the power they have. He invited the executive to engage in dialogue with trade unions.

Our presence here is evidence of our belief in the power of dialogue and constructive engagement. We are gathered to promote understanding of further steps. We extend an open invitation to engage in dialogue. Our demands stem from a common desire for education workers, the private sector, and all workers in Kosovo”, Hykoli said.

And the SBASK chairman in Cline, Arif Elezi, presented their demands, calling for social dialogue by the government for implementation of the requirements, before the law is met, the signing of the collective contract, raising the value of the wage coffient, improving working conditions, the weekly rate being 18 hours and several other requirements.

We wanted social dialogue for the realisation of our demands, we don't allow to change laws against education workers, we ask for the signing of an annex to the Kolecative Convention of Education, especially for the preservation of jobs, the Government respects pensioners because you and you are educated, we demand that the value of the corporate wage provider be raised for at least 30%, we require improved working conditions in educational institutions, the implementation of the Laws not to be done without union reconciliation, we want the functioning of the Social Economic Council, we want the weekly rate of 18 hours in the region, the Government to provide for the implementation of the Kotive Code of Education, with no representatives of the commissions to be placed on the commissions of the commission. / EO
