The former foreign minister has said that times have changed and that today Kosovo as a serious state belonging to the pact and the Western democratic order has its obligations.
She further adds that Kosovo should maintain reports with allies and have internal political unity. According to her, without these, Kosovo will have lost other battles and Serbia will win.
Full response:
The loss of the first battle for membership in the Council of Europe also comes as a result of the weak diplomatic communication (co-ordination) of this government with allies. But we must not forget that Kosovo lost the battle in U NESTO 2015 and INTERPOL 2018, even at the time when co-ordination with Allies was maximum and diplomatic co-operation was close.
So we have to start to realize that today we are not in 1999 or 2008 when we won war and state, when we had the whole democratic world on our side because we were victims of Serbian genocide, and it was a completely different geopolitical landscape from what we have today.
Today in 2024, we are not victims, but we are countries that belong to the Western and democratic pact, and meeting this pact today under heavy geopolitical circumstances we have obligations. And our minimum obligation is to maintain strategic alliances, maintain diplomatic communication within the institutional tracks even when we disagree with the Allies, and most importantly: U n NITETI BREPARTIAK reported with Serbia.
Without these, Kosovo's international losses will deepen, and Serbia's victories will be empowered.
