Former head of the Kosovo Economic Ode (OEK), Safet Gerjaliu, has said it is disturbing to shift capital from Kosovo companies that select the countries of the region to invest.

According to Gerjaliu, institutional actions are pointing to leftist politics, which he says are wrong. He says that worrying is the fact that institutional orientation is “that all be equal in poverty, not development and sustainability”.

Concern for businesses sees the escape of the labour force and high bank tickets.

For that, Gerjaliu has called for institutional action.

And the next concern nobody is noticing is a silent escape of the capital of Kosovo businesses in the countries of the region and beyond. If you go to Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro and Slovenia and other European countries, you will be surprised at the number of investors from Kosovo who invest in the capital of those countries, and that should be the greatest concern. What I want to share with you is another fact. It should not always be counted how far they leave Kosovo, but what the state does to motivate them to remain in Kosovo. We don't have education reforms for a law on health services, awareness campaign that had to motivate young people standing in Kosovo, and then if all of this is conveyed calmly, it shouldn't surprise us that they are leaving young people, we shouldn't create theaters, make it a massive void, and that suits its centuries-old enemies much more than the progress and perspectives of our republic<1>, Gerjali told EO.

The departure of the labour force and high bank interest are some of the problems that, according to the former OEK head, are <x0th minusculting” the private sector in Kosovo. For that, Gerjaliu has called for institutional action.

The private sector challenges are larger every day. It's not just about running off the workforce, we've got export schedules, we've got economic diplomacy, high bank candidates, and this whole thing is going to choke on Kosovo's business environment every day, the escape of the workforce is really disturbing, even though it's not at the level it's going to be too high, but we shouldn't deal with selling tickets and driving. But what we do for them to remain in Kosovo, which are self-aware campaigns for young people to realize that Europe is not what it used to be, what laws that are urgently drafted or designed to be in the function of emptying in Kosovo”, Gerxhaliu says.

Gerjaliu also mentioned the barriers and difficulties of doing business in the country. He says Kosovo is risking becoming a leftist policy.

“Definitely among the main reasons is the economic stability Kosovo is lacking. Secondly, we have a politicised bureaucracy and, in the third order, institutional approach far more towards a leftist economy than rightist and initiative to look at business to be fined not to back up is an additional reason when all of this is added to the fact that there is no real public-private dialogue. It's very disturbing, and in this direction I believe that access or institutional orientation for all to be equal in poverty and not development and sustainability is the most wrong approach that Kosovo is turning back than it is advancing to take steps towards the country's economic development”, Gerjaliu said.
