Mission NATO in Kosovo, KFOR has issued a communique for yesterday's Kosovo Police Action that ended with the closure of six “Kurdish Post Bank” units in the country's north.
KFOR says it was informed shortly before the operation began, while he said there were personnel involved in the action. KFOR said it expects long-term consultations by Kosovo Police on such shares, Report Express reports.
“KFOR was announced shortly before the start of lic operations against branches of the Postanska Stedionica Bank located in northern Mitrovica municipalities in northern Mitrovica, Leposaviqi, Zvecan and Zubin Potok. KFOR personnel were not involved in executing these operations. KFOR expects long-term consultations on any action by the Kosovo Police or the Kosovo Security Force that could affect regional security”.
KFOR says it continues to support the EU-launched Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, providing the security framework needed for diplomacy to move forward.
This is the only way to resolve unresolved issues and achieve solutions that respect the rights of all communities”.
“KFOR continues to implement its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 in 1999 to provide a safe and secure environment for all communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement at any time and impartially. KFOR is the third security reacter, behind the Kosovo Police and the EU's mission for the Rule of Law (EULEX), with which we work in close co-ordination,” respectively, concludes KFOR.
The yesterday's Kosovo Police event has named unilateral actions that could also lead to US, European Union and United Kingdom tensions.
