Hodaj: During 2023 we recommended the suspension of 71 police officers.

The chief executive of the Kosovo Police Inquiry, Deploy Hodaj, has said that during 2023 they have recommended the suspension of 71 police officers of different degrees and levels for involvement in various criminal acts, EO reports. He provided this data during his report to the Commission for Security and Defence Affairs for the report. [...]
Hodaj gave this data during the report to the Commission for Security and Defence Affairs for the annual labour report for 2023, where he said 178 suspects were investigated last year, of them 156 police officers and 22 citizens who have been on joint occasions with police officials.
He has said he has arrested 35 KB and citizens' employees.
“Viti 2023 has been a successful year in fulfilling our mandates. The fight against corruption continues to be one of our priorities. We've increased credibility to citizens. We're committed to boost citizen confidence in the complaints treatment system. We have received 1697 complaints during 2023, accepted by citizens. 32 percent of these complaints are attributed to criminal investigation. We are engaged in preventing and fighting crime and wrongdoing. We've investigated 178 suspects, of them 156 police officers and 22 citizens who have been on joint occasions with police officials. We have filed 74 criminal charges against suspects, arrested 35 employees and citizens. We have recommended the suspension of 71 police officers and different levels”, he said.
