Haziri: There are over a thousand reasons for the country to go to elections, government is unemployed

The deputy chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lutfi Haziri, has said there are over a thousand reasons for the country to go to the polls.

Haziri on Radio Dukaagjini has said the Kosovo government today is unemployed.

According to Haziri, the Kurti government has been mising Kosovo into the international arena, especially with the recent failure in the KiE.”

“Kurti only if you live in the parallel world in Kosovo can say there is no need for resignations that things are getting well, the Government of Kosovo today is unemployed. The processes that have initiated have failed, led the country to restrictive measures and serious restrictions, there are already only ceremonial visits, homazhes, commemorations. Gervala goes to congressmen, groups of Albanian associations, Arabists, have routine meetings to buy time. In any major sector in Kosovo, punishments are comparatively immediate. There is a thousand reasons to go to the polls, if former Kosovo is present in the KiE, Kosovo had turned out differently yesterday in front of Serbia at UN”, Haziri has declared.

He says the LDK's position remains the same as in the possibility of elections, adding that they do not support the possibility of dissolution of the Parliament, only if it has the resignation or dismissal of Kurti.

Asked about whether the LDK has had meetings with the AAK PDK to discuss the elections, Haziri has said that specific meetings related to the issue have not, nor will there be.

There have been no such thing as a specific target. Our communication with opposition parties is not correct until the political dialogue in Kosovo -- Kurti is responsible for this, the only dialogue is the Kosovo Parliament” -- has followed Haziri.

Otherwise, opposition parties are loving early elections, but do not agree on how to reach them.

Opposition parties in Kosovo remain divided, the Democratic Party of Kosovo agrees that in the elections they will be taken through the distribution of the Assembly, but not also the Democratic League of Kosovo and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, which initially wants the resignation of Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

The last option, Kurti's party, Vetevendosje Movement, “does not consider”.

In an effort to reach a consensus, parliamentary groups gathered early this week, but without success.

The current government mandate expires early next year.

The debate over early elections, the opposition has long begun, criticising Kurti for mismanagement.

But, it has intensified from last week, when Kurti has met with PDK chairman-in-chief Memli Krasniqi and has expressed readiness to discuss the date of the elections.
