Democratic League of Kosovo headship member Muhamet Hamiti has recalled that a year ago, American State Secretary Antony Blinken had condemned the government's uncoordinated actions in the north.
Citing Blinken's words for the warning of “consequences in bilateral relations”, he has also recalled that as Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti had called them “naive” of how the chief diplomat Donika Grovalla had called the EU “a letter player”.
“COMM SOVA WRITER IN SANXION BOOKING KAS A VIT Blinken: “These actions will have consequences for our bilateral relations with Kosovo” As today, on May 26, 2023, US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken had condemned the uncoordinated decisions of the Kosovo government in the north. Blinken further warned that “these actions (...) will have consequences for our bilateral relations with Kosovo”. Four days later, on May 30, 2023, referring to the British newspaper “The Guardian”, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti called Blinkent “naive” statements. His associate, Donika Gervalla-Schwarz, had called the EU “tric player of paper” at the time. But on 30 May 2023, US Ambassador to Kosovo Jeffrey Hovenier announced that Kosovo, more precisely the KSF, was excluded from NATO military exercise “Defender <23”, as a sanctions measure after developments in northern Kosovo”, Hamiti wrote in a Facebook post.
He also recalled how a few days later the EU imposed punitive measures on Kosovo.
“Two weeks later, on June 14, 2023, the 27 EU member states unanimously imposed punitive measures against Kosovo that included, according to EU spokesman Peter Stano, “denial of high-level visits... and of our financial co-operation with Kosovo”. EU projects for Kosovo worth hundreds of millions of euros so far have been blocked, Hamiti wrote.
LDK Headship member says the Republic of Kosovo “is at the lowest levels in the US reports this year”.
Also, now nearly a year with international sanctions of its friends and allies. This achievement is not marked by the government of Vetvandition. Their consequences are to Kosovo citizens, indiscriminately, both those who have voted the Government of Hope that is emerging as the Government of Disillusionment, as well as those who have not voted it”, he wrote.
