France's Ambassador to Kosovo, Oliver Guerot, has said Kosovo has not been on the agenda for membership in the KiE.
He said Kosovo should do something for Association.
When I have knowledge, no country during meetings as often as possible has formally asked for the Kosovo app to be discussed, has not been on the agenda, there has been no official request. It turns out that it's not just France and Germany, but it's pretty much everyone. It should be the initial point of reflection, why it is this way, instead of trying to analyze whether it is a prerequisite, later condition, recommendation, there has become a fact of life, for which we all expect something to happen about the Association”, he said at Tv Dukajini.
Guerot said France has never said to establish association for the KiE, according to him, they have sought a tangible step from Kosovo, as is sending to Constitutional.
Nobody's ever formally asked for an app to be discussed, so I've seen that there's a general sense of our suggestion becoming something. Do something, draft status in Constitution, it's a safer way to keep going. We've never said to establish association, before that we said take a tangible step, do something, that's the wisest thing. We hear a lot of comments, sometimes it's okay it's not bad, sometimes it's said to be flawed. The only way to know is to send him to court”, he said.
He said France supports Kosovo for membership in the KiE, but according to him Kosovo should submit the draft to Constitutional.
He said there will be other opportunities for Kosovo.
