More specifically, during the year 2023 alone, 195 pieces of counterfeit national bank notes were seized in 2022.
Concern for the Bank of Albania remains the high seized amount of euro currency in the EU area, which marks and the highest number of tourists visiting Albania.
From the technical point of view of the national currency counterfeit phenomenon, they are simple reproductions with digital commercial equipment.
