Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti met coalition partners last night. Kurti met with Donika Gervalen, Faton Pecin and Mimoza Kusari-Lila from Alternative, writes Periscopi.
In the communiqué issued by the ZKM, an election discussion was reportedly discussed at the meeting, stressing that such a process is a matter of months.
“It was stressed that since the legislature and governance have arrived in the fourth year of the mandate, it is understandable that the electoral process is a matter of months, but that agreement on further steps should be in line with the will of the citizens of the Republic, as well as the full harmonisation of the opposition parties' demand faced the post in the Assembly. Only then can the initiatives for discussion of the new electoral process be seriously addressed”, the ZKM report said, among other things.
Full announcement from ZKM:
Last night, Republic of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti had a working dinner with co-directors of the Guxo Party, at once Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Grovalla, Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development Minister Faton Peci, as well as the Speaker of the Alternative Movement Group and at the same time chairman of the V Parliamentary Group Memosa Kusari Lila.
During the meal, a comprehensive discussion was held on current developments, achievements and challenges of meeting the legislative agenda, as well as plans for the future, with the focus on legislative agenda in state interest and beyond the political dividers.
The demands and positions of the current opposition in the Kosovo Assembly regarding the election process were also addressed at the meeting.
It was stressed that since the legislature and governance have arrived in the fourth year of the mandate, it is understandable that the electoral process is a matter of months, but that agreement on further steps should be in line with the will of the citizens of the Republic, as well as the full harmonisation of the opposition parties' demand faced the post in the Assembly. Only then can the initiatives for discussion of the new election process be seriously addressed.
In any scenario, ruling coalition partners expressed themselves ready and completely convinced that the cultivated values of democracy and the government's current progress will continue along with our definition of developed democratic state, with rule of law and integration into the north-Atlantic structures.
