Elshani: Ibër Bridge in Mitrovica will open for circulation

Elshani said they are discussing with superiors how the opening of the bridge can be done.

I consider the time when this bridge will be opened and how it will be opened. We once mentioned that it was possible to open bridges and fill with autobulds in a certain location, but we're diskting it with our superiors about how it could be done. I consider that there is no more room for concern for the northern citizens of the country. The shape of how it's going to open is a little bit different, but I consider that we're going to have our own <x1) bridge, Elshani declared for Tv1.

Otherwise, in April, the North Mitrovica municipality Assembly has made a decision to open the Ibër Bridge for the flow of vehicles.

The first barricades on this bridge were placed in 2011 on the part of local Serbs.

The opening of the main bridge for traffic is also envisioned with the agreement on normalising Kosovo-Serbia relations, under the so-called “revitalisation of the” bridge.

This agreement was reached by Kosovo and Serbia in 2014, with the goal of removing barricades and operating the bridge.
