The total amount planned for this procurement activity, according to the CEC, is onem euros.
For the first time, The CEC used cameras in the polls in the process for or against the departure of mayors from their post in the municipalities of Leposaviq, Zubin Potok, Zvecan and North Mitrovica, which was held on April 21st 2024. These cameras, Kosovo's CEC, had borrowed them from Albania's CEC.
PDK member Arian Elshani said that placing cameras in locations, according to the CEC, is aimed at maintaining the integrity of the election process.
While CEC member from VV ranks Sami Kurteshi raised the question of whether this provision can be made if elections are held soon.
According to explanations given at this meeting, this is a regular procurement procedure, and it would be impossible for this process to be completed by July.
These cameras can't be compromised for as long as they're better, Albania's is younger than that I can guarantee”, said Arian Elshani of PDK.
In the event that the CEC manages to secure in time the cameras for deployment, the other member of Vetevendosje in the CEC, Alban Krasniqi, said it could again address Albania's CEC for camera borrowing.
In this case I think we can head to the Republic of Albania, the Central Commission there to make available the cameras they have that they use in electoral processes, if this alone is the necessary”.
The topic of the upcoming elections was discussed even during the review of the workshop for the learned lessons for the voting process for or against the departure of mayors in Leposaviq, Zvecan, Zubin Potok and Northern Mitrovica, and preparations for elections for the Kosovo Assembly reports EO.
In the rest of the meeting, The CEC made the decision to register political initiative Romani Incitive as a political party, which will now be part of the political parties' registry in the Republic of Kosovo. According to this registry, the number of registered political parties is 52.
At this same meeting, the CEC decided on the development of special meetings with the Mayors of the Communists to discuss and co-operate in implementing the General Election Law.
