Bundestag MP: Ministers' Committee has two choices, accept Kosovo in KiE, or no decision is made

The Council of Europe today celebrates the 75th anniversary of its establishment, and the deputy of Bundestag, Knut Abraham, has found the opportunity to remember today that the Parliamentary Assembly of this important organisation last month concluded by great majority of votes that Kosovo has met all standards to become its member. Now, Abraham writes [...]
Now, Abraham writes that the Committee of Ministers has two choices and that if standards and values are respected, then Kosovo would have to join the KiE this month.
The ministers' co-ordination has two choices: 1) to act in line with our values and standards by accepting Kosovo this May. 2) Or ignore the detailed assessment of distinguished lawyers, three rapporteurs, three commissions and PACE... by not making any decisions”, the German deputy wrote in “X”.
The second one, he says, would send harmful signals to MPs and citizens.
“ ... Anyway, this would send a harmful signal to MPs and citizens in the region: that states can ignore standards as they want to”.
This decision depends on the institution's credibility, protection of minority rights in Kosovo (Ahtisaari's Plan) and stability in the region. If we respect standards and values, then Kosovo's accession in May is the only way before”, Abraham wrote.
Germany, through its ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, has demanded that the Kosovo government not be at risk, while aiming to join the Council of Europe this month.
Internationals expect Kosovo to have moves towards establishing the Association of Serb majority municipalities to create a positive atmosphere before the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers says the final word on the issue of Kosovo membership in the KiE.
