Over 1 million and 300 thousand registered citizens so far

By Thursday (May 10th), more than 1 million and 300 thousand citizens are registered inside Kosovo and approximately 400,000 in two other ways with the E-Diaspora electronic platform.

So Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) leader Hazbije Qerici said in an interview for Telegrafi.

According to her, until today the population registration process, family economies and residences have gone well and with few challenges.

Until now, yesterday was the last time the chief executive of the Statistics Agency gave a figure, it was over 1 million and 300 thousand registered inside Kosovo, and approximately 400 thousand registered in two ways with the E-Diaspora platform and the questionnaire, with our recorders being taken through their families”.

But are the registration deadline expected?

The government indicated that it is not meant to take place the extension of the registration deadline, but as it put it in the 2024 census have planned the registration deadline.

“I don't believe that there will be a need to be postponed, despite that in Pristina and Prizren municipalities, as larger municipalities, we still have few challenges. We also hired mobile staff to conduct interviews. We also opened two phone centres and two centers, where citizens are coming and registering themselves”, she said.

The government showed when the census results are expected to be published.

“currently, AKS is in the process of collecting data. It has created a monitoring team and a team that will make logical control of all interviews taken during this process. When logical checks are done, the data will be cleared. For example, if a citizen is registered in Pristina and his family in another Kosovo town has been registered once again there, this team, which is of approximately 30 people, doing so will eliminate all possibilities of interview duplication. Then preliminary data will be released and eventually all final data”, Qariqi said.
