Europe is targeted both from the inside and from the outside, Ursula von der Leyen said on Sunday.
Speaking at the conference of Greece's ruling conservative New Democracy party, the president of the EU Commission, which ran for re-election this June, said that in the current environment there is no return to innocence and applied for a joint European defence.
“We must speed up European defence expenditures collectively. But just as war does not belong to the past in Europe, defence co-operation should be the sign of the future in Europe”.
