Switzerland: Banjska's transitions must be avoided at all costs

Switzerland's representative to the Security Council has asked both sides to fulfill their promises.

In her address, she urged Serbia not to prevent Kosovo from membership in international organisations.

The “call on Serbia to remove any uncertainty about its commitment to the agreements and refrain from rejecting Kosovo's membership in international organisations”, Switzerland's representative said.

Also, it urges Kosovo “the deepening of association without delay”.

Switzerland called for construction of constructive relations between the two countries.

The two sides share responsibility for reducing tensions. Espasses like that of Banjska should be avoided at all costs and those responsible must be brought to justice”, she said.

To Yesterday's vote, Swiss representative said: “Switzerland regrets that the Serb community did not participate. We encourage the Kosovo government to step up efforts to integrate the Serb minority into society”.
