Shortly after the stab attack on Sydney, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has held a press conference.
“The scene was shocking violence, but heroism came from police and civilians”, Albanese said.
He went on to commend the policeman who shot the attacker, and he tracks Telegrafi.
The police's character, of course, is very dangerous, undoubtedly heroin”, the Australian prime minister said.
There is no doubt that she has saved life with her action and reminds us that those who wear uniform are people who rush into danger and do not leave it. I thank each one of them for the actions they've taken of”, Albanese added.
He also thanked the citizens of Australia and expressed grief over their victims and family members.
For every Australian affected by this tragedy, every Australian is with you”.
Asked what to say to citizens concerned about further attacks, the prime minister said: “Of course it's my opinion that we should let the investigation continue. It seems that this person has acted alone. The motives are not known yet, and speculation is not useful”.
Albanese went on to express condolences to victims of today's attack, confirming once again that police have reported that to date, six people remain dead from the incident, while others are being treated at the hospital.
