In an answer to <x0), the US Embassy has also asked the Government of Kosovo to be “sensitive to concerns” of the Serb community in northern Kosovo concerning this process.
“We regret the Serbian List's statement that they will withdraw from turnout in the vote for the dismissal of northern mayors. We expect the Kosovo government to be sensitive to the concerns of its citizens in the north of Kosovo throughout this process. The United States and our partners will continue to follow this process closely”, it says in response.
“Sic has repeatedly said Ambassador Havenier and other US government officials, we believe it is important that Kosovo citizens have the ability to exercise their right to dismiss the mayors in line with Kosovo's legal framework, if they decide to do so”, the embassy has said further.
