Rezalla massacre, Kurti calls internationals to seek justice from Serbia for victims

The country's prime minister, Albin Kurti, has remembered the massacre of the Scytheright Rezall where, according to him, 98 men and boys were shot only because they were Albanians. Kurti said the shooting had lasted 30 minutes, while after the cruel and barbarous execution, on April 5, 1999, Serbia's armed forces kidnapped the corpses.
“29 of them have been found in the mass cemetery in Rudnica in Raska, Serbia. From Kizevac, Serbia, on September 30th, 2021, our remains were returned to Kosovo by seven of those killed in this massacre. Among them were two reunions with remains exhumed years ago by the mass cemetery in Rudnica, Serbia”.
Therefore, today I always appeal to international partners since Serbia, as responsible for the murder and disappearance of our loved ones, to demand the complete dawning of their destiny and justice for victims and families. Local justice is needed without delay and insistently, for the responsibilities, officers, and executions to be tried and punished”, Kurti wrote.
On the other hand, the head of the government said the truth of Serbia's crimes in Kosovo cannot be covered by the soil of the mass cemetery, while saying it cannot allow oblivion to cover the atrocities that occurred in the war.
By honoring the past, with justice for the victims, we engage in the future of our Republic. For independent Kosovo, where new generations grow up free and secure. Learning from the past, we move forward with hope and determination. Our Memorial is evidence of commitment not to forget sacrifices for the precious liberty of freedom”, he said.
