The Democratic Party of Kosovo has held today the Assembly of Headship, in which it has been discussed for current political developments in the country.

Members of the Headship have welcomed the Parliamentary Assembly vote of the Council of Europe, where the report that paves the way for Kosovo membership in the organisation was adopted.

Chairman Krasniqi has thanked the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats of Europe (ALDE), the party that includes the PDK, for its great commitment to Kosovo's interest in every step of this process.

The PDK believes that Kosovo's membership in this organisation, for which it has been working for years, serves strengthening democracy, rule of law and human rights.

So, The PDK calls on Kosovo institutions to lobby and co-ordinate with all our international allies this month so that the final vote of the Foreign Ministers' Committee, to be held in May, is positive.

Meanwhile, the headship of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, seeing political and economic stagnation in the country -- namely, damaging the welfare of citizens -- has once again voiced the need for new early elections.

The PDK believes that Kosovo citizens need a capable, creditable Government that improves their lives and develops the state of Kosovo, which has been on full record for more than three years.

The PDK, by February of this year, with the decision of the Steering Council, has started mobilising all structures for new elections. Meanwhile, on 27 March, President Memli Krasniqi has officially nominated Bedri Hamza as the candidate for Kosovo's prime minister.
