France's President Emmanuel Macron has stressed the need for normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
At a press conference Friday in Paris with Edi Rama, Albania's prime minister, Macron said normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia is necessary for all regional issues.
I want to show France's commitment to the Western Balkans. This is about uniting Europe to make it stronger in the background of Russian aggression in Ukraine. Albania has continued its European path with determination, confidence in our support. We are impressed by the totality of reforms and capacity to advance. I want to welcome the powerful voice in Albania's region on the international stage. In all regional issues, normalising relations between Serbia and Kosovo is necessary”, Macron said.
Rama was met with a state ceremony by Macron, while saying he had not imagined such hospitality.
After meeting with Vucinqi, Macro demanded that Kosovo and Serbia implement the agreement on the road to normalisation reached last year, stressing that France will make sure that any step of this agreement is met.
