LDK for the vote in Assembly: Historical weather, welcome final approval, grateful People's Partys

With 131 votes for, 29 against and 11 abstentions, the Parliamentary Assembly supported Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe during a plenary session Tuesday in Strasbourg.

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has reacted to this, particularly thanking the popular European parties.

Kosovo's Democratic League enjoys the news of voting at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for Kosovo's membership in Council of Europe. This is the historic moment of the consolidation and integration of the state of Kosovo alongside Western democratic states. The LDK welcomes and final approval by the EU member states' Foreign Ministers Committee in May of this year”.

“The LDK in particular thanks and is grateful to the European People's Party in this historic decision to recognise this right to our citizens. The right of Kosovo and our people to equal countries among European peoples and institutions is historical right. Our membership serves democracy and human freedoms in the region and beyond. The LDK will strongly engage in Kosovo's membership in all international mechanisms, in the EU and in NATO”, the LDK report said.
