Lajcak after appointment: We overcome some disagreement, we continue discussions on the basis of the EU idea of compromise

Emisari Miroslav Lajcak has come up with a notice of today's meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi and Serbian chief negotiator Petar Petkovic. He said few spaces for the parties' proposals were filled, but that the discussion should continue. I expected another discussion with the two chief negotiators about a temporary solution for those affected by the CEC decision. We managed to fill a few ditches between the proposals on both sides. I plan to continue our discussions soon based on the EU's ideas of compromise”, Lajcak wrote.
After the meeting ended, Bislimi in a statement to reporters in Brussels said there were differences between him and the Serbian side.
Unfortunately, we still have major differences. While the Kosovo side has discussed options for how Serbian citizens can receive financial support even further from Serbia, the Serbian side has worked as a lawyer for “Postanska Banka” and have discussed how to regulate the license of this bank, which is neither competence nor the interest of the parties involved”.
Bislimi said the proposal Lajcak has put forward was “that we believe is a constructive proposal and on the right track to find a solution which mostly suits Serbian citizens in Kosovo”.
