At a conference held on the World Authentication Day note, Hatage Hoxha, of the Autism Association, has called for the comprehensive law on persons with limited abilities to be adopted, as according to her, this law is vital for such ones.
It's a problem with the lack of a server for people with autism. There is still no Kosovo a database, we don't have a certain number to know how many people we have in Kosovo who are autism. Lack of legal infrastructure, we are working with the ministry for the adoption of a comprehensive law on persons with limited capacity, is a vital law for them”, she said.
Hoxha has said the problem is the absence of school assistants. The Ministry of Education worked, but this is a drop of water in the ocean. Lack of logos in schools. Training for tutors at kindergartens and gardens”, she said, reports EO.
She has said that 82 children with autism are treated at the centre of this association in Pristina.
The prodedian Blerta Perol of the Education School has said that over the years studies have confirmed that early childhood intervention has changed the way of development for children and improved the results of these children.
“Interventions in early childhoods in the first place have changed the way of development for children, improved the results for children, for families and communities, and impacted positively in all areas of development. Proper support during these early critical years stimulates development and improves their involvement and participation and guarantees a quality of life what we all intend to achieve”, she has said.
Meanwhile Habit Hajredini, director of the Office for Good Government at the Office of the Prime Minister, has said they are finalising the national strategy for disabled.
“Today we are together to mark International Day but also to discuss progress and challenges from the year we left behind. Knowing this is also one of our priorities as a government. We as Government have focused and are working on implementing limited-skilled people's legislation. We as Government have prioritized the issue of equal treatment and what is specifically dedicated to persons with limited abilities. We are developing a national strategy for persons with limited abilities and that we are finalising this policy through this document”, he said.
