KiE Parliamentary Assembly: Kosovo application debate, main event of spring session

“A debate on Kosovo's application for membership in the Council of Europe and the vote on a draft-opinion will be a major moment of the European Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly session (APKE), which will be held in Strasbourg on April 15-19, 2024 148x2>, the report said.

And so, The APEC will also have a joint debate on the “death of Alexei Navalny and the need to counter Vladimir Putin's totalitarian regime and its fight against democracy, as well as a host of other issues.

Kosovo took a step forward in its application for membership in the human rights organisation late last month when the Council of Europe's Committee for Policy and Democracy has approved its rapporteur for Kosovo, Dora Bakoyannis, where it says Kosovo has met the conditions for becoming a full member of the Council of Europe.

This successful vote was preceded by the Government of Kosovo's order to Kadastri to register the land to the Decani Monastery, thus implementing a Constitutional Court decision. /Express/
