“We currently have some challenges in registering the Serb community, in some parts not all over Kosovo. We also expect those challenges to be overcome these days. Otherwise we and our colleagues, we were in the northern part yesterday and we're supposed to have them engage in the census in the coming days. ”
He said the field data collection phase has begun.
“We've entered the field data collection phase, equipment is adequate and very functional, so we've had a technical obstacle, the system is working, because it's been a challenge if the whole system works, we've had trouble. Also developed was a monitoring system”, he said.
Kastrati said that from now the recorders will work at full capacity.
“Since now the recorders will work at full capacity because we've warned several times a few days needs the recorder to be announced with the area, it has been tasked to distribute some information materials and a contact letter. Full interviews will now be conducted according to the plan and recommendations you have given to the recorders. ”
All communities are participating in the census, without bypassing any community, and hopefully we will continue until the end of the registration process. For your approval we have other international institutions that will monitor the registration process. The census is going according to the plan that we've been set before thus far”, Kastrati said.
He said they have met with Serb representatives and that he is willing to register them.
“We have met with representatives of the Serb community, but not from the Serbian List, and there is a willingness to be registered to the Serb population, they have asked for several days of training, which we agree because compared to 2011 two weeks, it is 6 weeks, it does not present challenges with the data collection. Hopefully they'll be on the ground to collect the data, but there's a public statement from the Serbian List, and there's a public call that the population itself is a challenge to them as well, but we expect the next few days we will collect the data for that part. ”
