KDI Executive Director Ismet Kryeziu has said holding the vote, where it will be decided for or against the dismissal of mayors in the north, is heading towards failure.
Kryeziu has said and the failure of votes in the north could fail, “not because of the organisation and technical management of this process. But because of the mobilization and warnings of boycotting by those who launched this initiative through petition, Serbian citizens in these four Kosovo municipalities”.
I believe that the CEC after this new situation should reconsider its decision and cancel the process. Thus it will avoid unnecessary energy and state finances losses for a handful of votes to be collected this Sunday. Turnout will be low and insignificant, away from achieving democratic standards that would have to convey this process”, Kryeziu wrote.
Kryeziu has said that “even after Sunday in these municipalities the problems would remain the same, in search of an institutional and political and alternative dialogue for resolution”.
