They have another opinion, after voting for Lithuania.
“Lithuania regained its independence not long ago was 1990. This means that youths under 30 have spent their lives entirely in independent Lithuania, while other age groups have experienced the harsh reality of the Soviet Union”, said Antanas Kairis, an associate professor at the General Psychological Department at Vilnius University.
Over the past three years, countries in Central and Eastern Europe have exceeded some of their Western European neighbours in general happiness, according to the survey.
Besides Lithuania, happy states are considered to be the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Romania.
