The Committee of Permanent Representatives (Creeper), otherwise the EU Council's main prepared body, agreed with the EP and EU Council proposal for changes to the passport holders' regulation.
So says a letter sent by Careper Chairman Willem van de Voorde, chairman of the EP Committee for Civil Freedoms, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE), Juan Fernando Lopez Aguilar.
The letter adds that if the EP approves its first-read stance, the Council will approve the EP stance and those acts will be adopted in a formula corresponding to the EP's position, Euronews.rs writes.
On April 9th, the EP Committee for Civil Freedoms, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) approved the draft visa liberalisation report for Kosovo holders of Serbian passports issued by Serbia's Co-ordination Directorate and handed over by the member The EP for lifting those visas, Matjazh Nemec.
This decision ensures that the entire Western Balkan region has the same visa regime for EU travel, the EP announced at the time.
After voting in LIBE, the German said there is a possibility that the visa liberalisation decision for holders of these passports will be implemented by early summer, and added that it will continue for the EP to confirm this decision by the end of April at the EP plenary session in Strasbourg.
The last plenary EP session should be held from 22 April to 25 April in Strasbourg, and then ministers at the EU Council must vote on that decision.
