He said he expects Kosovo to join this alliance with full rights very soon.
“When it comes to the entire Albanian community, Croatia is a highly powerful supporter of NATO and however, of the entire transatlantic alliance. We are very happy to have joined our allies together with Albania, and we still expect that Kosovo too soon to be a full-fledged NATO member”, Kovacs has said.
Speaking of concerns about a real conflict in the Western Balkans, Kovac said it is the European Union's question to deal with security.
The first “, the Western Balkans, is the courtyard of the European Union, so the EU has to deal with this anyway. And second, Albania, Montenegro and Northern Macedonia are NATO members and have no concern with security in the Balkans”, Kovac said.
He said that if there is any kind of aggression within the Balkans, member states within NATO would immediately intervene to ensure that order and security is preserved and maintained as such.
There may be little trouble, but I don't think anyone dares challenge this order in the Western Balkans”, he said.
Kovac has also commented on Banjska's case on September 23rd of last year, saying it was an attempt to cause unrest.
“There may be attempts at unrest in Kosovo, but if there is something similar with Banjska, there will still be interventions within Kosovo and that these are just ideas and I don't believe they will be concrete”, Kovac said on public television.
