US President Joe Biden expects Iran to attack Israel “sooner than late”, as fears rise for Iranian vengeance on an air strike that killed top commanders earlier this month.
Israel has rejected the attack on an Iranian consulate in Syria, but is widely believed to have been behind it.
American officials have told CBS News, the American BBC partner, that a major attack on Israel could happen soon.
Israel says it is ready to defend itself. And Mr. Biden told Iran: “Do not do””, the BBC points out.
“We are committed to Israel's defence. We will support Israel”, said Mr. Biden. “We will help protect Israel and Iran will not succeed. ”
