About 17 pilgrims dead after a bus crash in Pakistan

About 17 people have lost their lives and 16 others have been hurt when a bus carrying pilgrims slipped off the road and fell into a deep ditch in southwest Pakistan, officials said Thursday. They were traveling to a religious area in Baluccistan late Wednesday, the first day of [...] festival.
They were travelling towards a religious zone in Baluccistan late Wednesday, the first day of the Fiter Bajrami holiday, said provincial government spokesman Shahid Rind.
The driver lost control of the wheel at the Las Bella Circle, about 15 miles [25 km] from the shrine of the pilgrims.
The seriously injured, about 15 of them, were taken to a hospital in the nearby province of Sindh.
Thirty - three people were on the bus, including the driver, when the accident occurred.
Baluccistan Governor Mir Sarfraz Bugti expressed regret over the accident. /rel/
