The Power Regulatory Office (ZRRE) has approved maximum access to power operators for the period 2024-2025.
Ymer Feyzullahu, chairman of the ZERE board, said Friday during a board meeting that energy companies in Kosovo “will reflect on bottom tariffs,” but did not show whether there is expected to be an increase in the electricity price, right.
A decision will be made soon because tariffs, according to Z. The RRE is expected to take effect on April 1st and will apply until March 31st, 2024.
The Kosovar Power Supply Company (KESCO), which makes energy supply and inspection, has demanded about 400m euros in maximum revenues, says Z. RRE.
That figure, according to KESCO, is necessary for sustainable operation.
K E SCO made this request in February with the argument of increasing the cost of spending, import of energy, investments in the four Serb majority municipalities in northern Kosovo, northern Mitrovica, Zvecan, Zubin Potok and Leposaviq, but also of increasing staff wages.
“KEDS for 2024/2025, worth over 399m euros. This will be reflected on end tariffs”, Fyzullahu said.
“In the next board meeting, it will be correctly known how much tariffs will be for next year,” he said
During the fee review, this mechanism has not taken into account even the Kosovo Energy Corporation's proposal (KEK) for increased energy price produced.
KEK told Radio Free Europe on Thursday that the requirement is to raise the price from 29.50 euros currently costing an hour-long megawatt to 31.50 euros.
This requirement has been made due to the rise that the cost of production and inflation.
This request has not met the procedures under the legislation in force,” said Feyzullahu.
The ZRR makes the review and set tariffs annually.
In Kosovo last year, electricity tariffs rose by 15 percent for all consumer categories.
For consumers who spend up to 800 kilowatts per hour within a month, the daily price is 7.79 cents per kilowatt, while for those who spend more than 800 kilowatts, the share on it was estimated at 14.45 cents.
Between 10:00 and 7:00 a.m., the price for kilowatt is 3.34 cents for those who spend up to 800 kilowatts and 6.81 cents for what they spend most.
