116 thousand citizens have applied to the Civil Record Agency (ARC) to be equipped with passports within these two months, while interest in obtaining the biometric passport has also shown Serbian citizens in the country's north. So has the chief executive chief of the Civil Recording Agency (ARC), Blerim Camaj.

Camaj has declared that during this period following visa liberalisation, there have been over 1,000 and 400 citizens from northern municipalities that have applied to be equipped with passports. In total, though, in only four northern municipalities, it is about 7 thousand.

Camaj has denied claims that there is a lack of material, except for the problems that arose from time to time. That's why I leave the shift to the location.

The demands have been on the rise now the situation has only begun to stabilize by the end of February. In January, there are some 71 thousand citizens who have applied for passports and in February some 45 thousand citizens who have equipped for passports”, Camaj said.

The material needed for passports is already not problematic, as according to Camaj, there is enough material. However, the shift in location from the Renaissance Germ facility has caused little difficulty until the system has stabilised.

“Material we have enough, the production line is one that produces 2 thousand passports per day, we are waiting for March to change production months and increase capacity. We haven't, we've had two days of trouble with the system that we've been carrying it from the object of the Greme and we've gone to the Renaissance and when they change they're in trouble, but production has now stabilised”, Camaj told Online Economy.

Besides the interest in receiving passports in other municipalities, considerable interest has been expressed by citizens in the country's north. According to Camaj, 7 thousand Serbs have been equipped with the passport of the Republic of Kosovo.

Even citizens of northern municipalities have shown great interest in equipping themselves with passports from the Republic of Kosovo alone in January and February in four northern municipalities have applied somewhere around 1,000 and 400 citizens. In total, only in four northern municipalities are about 70,000 citizens with biometric passport”, Camaj told Online Economy.
