Trial Continues in The Hague Against Former KLA Leaders

Otherwise, hearings in the trial of Hashim Thaci and co-accused youth on March 18th, with testimony from the 40th witness called by the Prosecutor. He was a protected witness whose testimony, according to the summary read in the courtroom, was linked to a victim who had been murdered after being taken and detained by KLA members in the Lapi area.
The 50th witness, Claude Khan, also testified. His testimony concerned Roma rights violations in Kosovo, during his employment at the European Centre for Roma Rights in July 1999. The Witness asked the Prosecution as well as all four defence teams.
The 51st witness called by the Prosecutor testified. He was a protected witness, whose brother, according to the Prosecutor, was arrested by KLA members during the respective period and whose body has never been found.
The 52nd witness began witnessing via video connection Tuesday and followed Wednesday with questions from defence teams. According to the prosecution, this protected witness is Kosovo Albanian who was arrested and detained by KLA members in or around August 1998.
