Tahiri says that if it has come to that point for the Health Ministry to trust an economic operator for the state of Kosovo to supply for two years with drugs, then why should this ministry function.
“E only has one economic operator at the Ministry of Health, which on Kosovo's essential drug list supplies the state with about 22m euros. On the other hand, in addition to the 22m - dollar drugs, there are another 18 million in consumer materials. So, the MSH and the institutions that are within this ministry trust an economic operator 40m euros for two years' expense, the company “Meditch”. And when we started working on the issue of stem contracts, we became the address to these issues where people sent us. I don't know why I have to with the Minister of Health. We're running this entire operator. When we get to a point that we trust such a 40m-euro operator for two years... or other pharmaceutical companies in Kosovo, we only have one company left. This is a big challenge for prosecutors as well, and leave it to MPs.
I call on the prosecution today, seeing how possible 22m euros to provide the essential list of drugs and 18m euros with other consumer materials. I call on the prosecution to start an investigation and see if it's normal, or it's really a extreme abuse of”, Tahiri said in the Kosovo Assembly.
