Kosovo's Ambassador to Croatia, Martin Berisha, is being interviewed by the Special Prosecutor of Kosovo from the morning hours, under suspicion of a relativeial with a Serbian energy company.
But his friend, Prime Minister Albin Kurti, is now strengthening Kosovo as the preferred destination for energy investments.
Albin Kurti, after completing the bidding process for the 100 megawatt Solar Solart, said electricity capacities coincide with the economic development of a state and that any new installed megawatt represents a greater potential of production and economic growth.
At the electronic auction for the first solar project of 100 megawatts, he further said that as governments aim to work and create an energy sector that is safe and that puts Kosovo's citizen in the centre.
“Five companies from France, Turkey, Egypt and Switzerland and Kosovo, all sector leaders, none here is by chance. Over a year, Kosovo institutions led by the Ministry of Economy have worked hard and honour to develop a transparent and equal process. The results of this job are already enjoying not only the completion of our first auction but the reinforcement of our country's status as a preferred investment energy destination, thanks to stable environmental safety policies for doing business. Electricity capacity coincides with the economic development of a state. Each new installed megawatt presents a greater potential of production and economic growth, as well as improved social well-being. For us, megavat development is also a mirror of principles of government. As a government, we aim to work and create an energy sector that is safe, which puts the citizen of Kosovo in the centre and moves on with global developments. The 100 megawatt solar auction is a reflection of these targets”, Kurti said, announces Clankosova.tv.
The first government there said Solar Park has decided to build it on public ground, as he said, the public will serve.
We're meeting for a secure energy sector because we're adding 100 new megavats to our energy production. We're talking about an energy sector that puts the citizen in its center, because by selecting the competitive procedure, we've made sure that we're going to get the lowest price for purchasing energy. Such energy will be clean and will protect everyone's environment and health. Solar Park we've decided to build it on public ground because the public will serve. For the first time in our region, we are developing a process like this one, where prices will be given in real time and full transparency. All this would not be possible without the commitment of the Ministry of Economy, other institutions involved and co-operation with assistance from USAID”, Kurti said.
