[Phone Ringing] Waiting for Government to Work in Partnership With US

US Ambassador to Kosovo Jeffrey Hovenier has expressed his expectations that Kurti Government, like previous governments, co-operate in partnership with the US, for a safe region in the Western Balkans.

” We expect this Government of Kosovo, as we have expected from previous Kosovo governments, to work in partnership with us as we continue in our efforts to build a stable, prosperous, multiethnic and secure region of the Western Balkans”.

Hovenier at a event on the 25th anniversary of NATO's intervention in preventing the Serbian genocide in Kosovo conveyed a message even in terms of unmet, up-to-date agreements between the Kosovo and the Serbian parties.

In this context, I have to repeat what other American officials and I have said over and over again: The only way for Kosovo's integration into European and Euro-Atlantic institutions is through the EU-launched dialogue, and specifically with the trust and full implementation of all commitments. Kosovo has done it under Dialogue”.

” While recalling the bravery of those who stood against ethnic cleansing and those who continue to preserve peace today, we repeat the vision of a whole, free and at peace”.

” We view stability and security in the Western Balkans as the key to advancing this promise, especially after Putin's relentless full-scale invasion of Ukraine, where we are seeing unimaginable humanitarian disaster and catastrophe”.

For Kosovo, the urgency of European and Euro-Atlantic integration is clear; it is the means to ensure the security, prosperity and democratic freedoms you want for your children”, the American ambassador said, among other things.
