Ohrid agreement implemented with Kosovo's pro vote in Paris

Analyst Ilir Deda from the Institute of Social Sciences in Vienna in an interview for N1 (the CNN phylial in Serbia) has said the decision by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe's Political Committee to approve the recommendation that Kosovo be invited for membership somehow represents the implementation of the Ohrid Agreement. “has [...]
The “has more to do with Kosovo's help to integrate into European institutions where possible.” has said Deda.
This is also the result of last year's deal on the Franco-German plan for Kosovo to be represented in international institutions. I think the Council of Europe is very important in the first place because of improved human rights in Kosovo, the best state of the judicial system and democracy as a whole”, it has added.
Deda has also said that Kosovo's application for EU membership is not addressed because of Brussels' measures towards Kosovo.
Unfortunately, Kosovo's candidacy application is not taken into account because of EU sanctions on Kosovo, and I think it is a big loss for Kosovo. We need this integration process and 13-14 years ago, when dialogue began, it began with the promise that progress in dialogue, normalisation means progress towards European integration. Unfortunately, there is no such European integration and there is no real progress in normalising relations”, he says.
Deda has criticised authorities in Serbia for the reactions they have made after Kosovo took a step towards membership in the KiE.
I find it a little weird, that rhetorical, because Serbia and Kosovo are sitting together in a series of international organisations now and are sitting together in about forty regional organisations, and now there is an atmosphere that is a kind of precedent, and that does not correspond. towards reality and facts”, he says.
According to Deda, officials in Serbia had declared that Kosovo's membership in the United Nations is not acceptable, but had never said membership in the Council of Europe is unacceptable.
For me now it's a little strange, but membership in the Council of Europe is very important for all people living in Kosovo. Because we will have another instance, the European Court of Human Rights, which is very important. If we have a problem with court decisions in Kosovo, and we have nowhere to complain, how will we improve the system. It is also very important for Serbs in Kosovo”, he explains.
As he puts it, he speaks to many people and sees what is happening, as well as that there are many people in the public sphere who are clearly pros the government to act and conduct itself completely differently with Kosovo Serbs.
“not only to send mail, but also to work and chat with them”. Thus, there should be no government to act with members of a nation of”, he points out.
Pre-election atmosphere in Kosovo
Speaking of developments in Kosovo, Deda has estimated that a pre-election atmosphere is now under way.
“Looks like the elections will be earlier than the regular deadline in 2025. For now, the topic here is when there will be new elections and when the decision to distribute the Parliament will be made, and I think things about that dynamic domestic political one are changing and moving towards new elections”, he says.
