Hargrees is the sixth appointed ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kosovo.

Hargrees in this position replaced Nicholas Abbott.

Prior to the appointment as ambassador to Kosovo, Hargreeves was the Special Representative of the United Kingdom for Syria.

Prior to that, Hargreets was also appointed as Deputy Director for the Middle East and North Africa Division for the Department of International Development in the United Kingdom.
