The largest European Congress, the European People's Party, the largest political grouping in the EU, is being held in Bucharest.
Also invited here was Democratic League of Kosovo chairman Lumir Abdixhiku.
The first of this party, while speaking of war in Ukraine and preserving international order, said it belongs to the last European generation, which witnessed the war and had the fate of such war, hope and joy, a quarter century ago.
“At the end of the 1990s, while Milosevic's Serbia waged a war of aggression against Kosovo in an effort to ethnically cleanse our people and wipe out our homeland from the map, Western democracies stood by us.
We won together. Milosevic failed. Let us look forward to the day that Putin fails as well, and Ukraine prevails, so that we can live in a full and free Europe”, Obadiah declared in Congress.
But according to Obadiah, even the quarter century after the war, Serbia sabotages our nation, questions our existence and requires submission.
The time must come for the European Union to embrace Kosovo fully, recognizing the steps we have taken towards democracy, rule of law and economic development. Our trip has been marked by significant challenges, however, our commitment to European integration has remained steadfast”.
The LDK chairman called for those few countries that have not recognised Kosovo to do so. Because according to him their support is crucial to advancing stability, peace and prosperity in the region.
Kosovo's “Aspirats match this vision, and our involvement in the European family would mark an important step towards the realisation of a full and peaceful Europe.
I take the opportunity to finish my words by saying that the EPP has been a Guardian of democratic Europe, as has the LDK been Kosovo Democratic Guardian”, Obadiah concluded.
