Nurtene Deva, convicted of criminal offence by the chapter of corruption deeds, is named a Rector of the University of Mitrovica

Despite this condemned act, the University of Mitrovica Steering Council “Isa Bolletini” has appointed to the position of task manager, Nurtine Devin.

The latter was charged by the Constitutional Prosecutor in Mitrovica on October 19th 2021 after, according to the prosecution, being able to understand the importance of her work and manage her actions, she, as a senior public official of the Mitrovica University Steering Council “Iisa Boletini”, had acted in opposition to Article 8, paragraph 1 of the Law for Declaration, Determine and the Control of High Public Officials, reports “Betine <Betin<3>

According to the indictment, Deva had not declared the required data in the form that refers to the statement of wealth, income, gift, material gains at the Anti-Corruption Agency in the period from March 1st 2020 to March 31, 2020, for the preliminary year, has not declared the required data in the aforementioned form, in terms of revenues, and for the preliminary year from January 1st 2019 to December 31, 2019, where it has presented the amount of net income at the value of 20 thousand euros, 213 euros, and not actually worth 52 thousand euros.

During the period when Deva has not declared wealth, he has been a member of the University of Mitrovica Steering Council.

In this regard, it was accused of committing criminal work “of not reporting or reporting false property, income, gifts, of other material benefits or financial obligations” by Article 430, paragraph 2 of the Penal Code, which is fined and sentenced to imprisonment of 6 months to 5 years. On the other hand, from the University of Mitrovica, its appointment at the top of the university, has argued with the fact that Nurtene Deva, although convicted of criminal corruption, has paid the fine under law.
