According to unofficial information, at least 100,000 NATO soldiers are positioned in Poland, trained and ready for action. They are part of the so-called “rapid reaction force”, which for years has remained inactive but since the Russian war in Ukraine has become the most important pillar of defence strategy.
Just a few months ago, only 400,000 troops were found in Poland, while now the state has become the focus of coalition operations. The US has installed a command there that is tasked with co-ordinating land troops along the corridor from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea.
On Monday in Brussels, a meeting was held to monitor the scale of border coverage and was decided to further strengthen Bulgaria's defence. High attention is also being given to air space protection. The US plays a key role in military and political-diplomatic plans and recommends content.
Joe Biden seeks to avoid direct confrontation and cares to stress that military movements along the eastern border are not prepared for direct intervention on Ukrainian soil. / COVER/
